Solar PV Foundation Services

SunTap has  expertise in providing advanced and mechanized metal foundations solutions. The foundation solutions available are :

1) Driven Pile / Rammed Foundation

2) Screw or Helical Foundation

1) Ramming / Pile Driving

Ramming and screwing as a technology is widely used across the globe for solar foundation installation purpose, and now is being adopted in India as well.
Under the ramming technology, a galvanized iron post (ISMB section/sigma profile/omega profile/ ISMC section) is hammered/rammed into the strata till a certain depth depending on soil condition and structure load in order to gain the required pull out load.
From a foundation optimization standpoint, driven-pile foundations are appealing because they generally offer the most attractive price point while providing good lateral and vertical bearing.

Driven piles are most appropriate where soils are firm and compacted, with enough fine-grain materials.

Our fleet of German ramming machines enable a greater control over accuracy and also, we have the capacity to install close to 6000 posts per day, which makes us the biggest ramming contractor in Asia with the most advanced fleet. We have catered to Over 1 GW in India and over 1.5 GW globally. In India we have catered to more GWs than all other ramming contractors, and have an extremely satisfied client base, with a consistent rate of repeat orders.

We are the largest foundations service provider in India both in terms of the number of machines and also total foundations works executed so far.
With presence in Europe, MENA and South Asia, we are also one of the largest foundation installer globally.

2) Screw or Helical Foundations

Helical posts and earth screws rely on the torque axial relationship between the shaft and thread components of the helical/screw and frictional capacity developed within the soil regime or aggregate downhole. A metal screw ranging anywhere between 4 ft to 7 ft is screwed into the soil. On completion, the screw head acts as the base for Super Structure. Compared to driven piles, earth screws can adapt to a wider range of soil and site conditions.  By using predrill pilot holes, we can install earth screws in rocky soils and even bedrock. While drilling pilot holes typically increases the foundation cost compared to driven piles, using earth screws may increase the deployable area. In softer soils, we can install earth screws without pilot holes. However, softer soils require deeper embedment depths.
